In an exciting turn of events, a familiar face from “The Walking Dead” series becomes a main character in season 4 of “Tracker.”
Although “The Walking Dead” concluded in 2022, Lydia, the daughter of Alpha (portrayed by Samantha Morton), the leader of the Whisperers, remains unforgettable. After portraying this intricate character from seasons 9 to 11, actress Cassady McClincy Zhang continues her journey on television, stepping up her game in “Tracker.” Already appearing in season 3, the 26-year-old actress has now secured a regular role for the upcoming adventures, as reported by Deadline.
From Lydia in The Walking Dead to Mel in Tracker
Since her stint on “The Walking Dead,” the actress has kept a low profile, making only brief appearances on screen. Last year, fortune smiled upon her as she joined a successful series launched in 2024, based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel, “Tracker.” The show follows Colter Shaw (played by Justin Hartley), a loner who uses his survivalist skills to help private individuals and authorities find missing people.
In the latest season, Cassady McClincy Zhang portrays Mel Day, a young staffer at the bail agency run by Reenie Greene (Fiona Rene). Throughout the episodes, her character has grown more confident and become more involved in the lone-wolf’s operations. Naturally, in season 4, which takes place not in Canada but in California, she will be one of the main heroines.

And it’s clear her experience from recent episodes will likely help her assert herself further and possibly take on even more challenging missions with the tracker. An unexpected partnership between Colter and Mel might just be on the horizon!
What to Expect in Season 4?
Beyond the new missions awaiting Colter, season 4 is set to continue one of the series’ most significant personal storylines. Remember, in the season’s final episode, Russell (Jensen Ackles), the hero’s brother, discovered that their father is involved in a secretive government program for gifted children, but has yet to reveal anything to Colter. Will he finally uncover the truth about his father?
With Mel now prominently featured, the hit series is poised to attract new viewers, especially fans of The Walking Dead. “Tracker” Season 4 is set to premiere on October 4, 2026, at 9 PM on CBS. In France, it’s expected to air on Disney+ and TF1, though the date is still to be announced. So, stay tuned.
