This Monday evening, TF1 is airing the final two episodes of “Rien ne t’efface”. Will there be a continuation of this adaptation from Michel Bussi’s novel? Here’s everything you need to know!
On Monday, August 25, TF1 premiered “Rien ne t’efface”, a thriller based on the novel of the same name by Michel Bussi.
Starring Gwendoline Hamon, the series tracks Maddi, a doctor from Saint-Jean-de-Luz who, a decade after the tragic death of her son Esteban, encounters Tom, a boy who bears a striking resemblance to him.
Driven by curiosity about this mystery, she moves from her native Basque Country to get closer to Tom in Auvergne. She soon discovers that Tom not only looks like Esteban but also has flashbacks and visions of Esteban’s memories.
As a series of murders unsettles the quiet region, Maddi can’t help but wonder: are these events connected to her son’s death? Who really is Tom, and what is his connection to Esteban?
Will There Be a Season 2?
Although “Rien ne t’efface” garnered good viewer ratings, averaging 3 million viewers during its first two nights of broadcast, there are no plans for a sequel.
Just like in the novel, the mystery involving Tom and Esteban is resolved in the final episode. Therefore, there’s no reason for TF1 to order a second season for “Rien ne t’efface”.
Michel Bussi Returning to TV Soon!
However, there is good news for fans of Michel Bussi’s novels. Following “L’ile prisonnière”, which aired in 2023, the author has once again taken on the role of screenwriter with “La vallée fracturée”, a new 6-episode series set to premiere on Monday, September 22 on France 2.
Co-written with Christian Clères, this drama is set in a small village threatened by a shale gas drilling project. Behind the venture is Charles Kaskia, a billionaire engineer partnered with the international consortium SETH, which is funding the project.
The village is split between supporters of the drilling and those who are vehemently against it. The latter group is led by the village mayor, Floriane Bourdieu (Anne Charrier).
Floriane is determined to stop the drilling, facing severe threats from the industrialists, with the help of engineer Pierre Donjon (Thierry Godard).
Don’t miss the last two episodes of “Rien ne t’efface” this Monday, September 8 starting at 9:10 PM on TF1.
