Maxton Hall Shocker: Is Season 3 Coming After Ruby’s Unfair End?

Today, Prime Video released the final episode of “Maxton Hall” season 2, leaving Ruby in a precarious position. Will she have her chance for revenge in season 3?

Trouble is brewing for the star-crossed lovers. Prime Video has just dropped the season 2 finale of Maxton Hall, and things are falling apart for Ruby (played by Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung). James’s father, Mortimer, has taken it upon himself to ruin Ruby’s life, and he’s succeeding.

Be warned, spoilers ahead.

In episode 6 of Maxton Hall season 2, Mortimer faces a setback: the main shareholder of Beaufort Enterprises walks out. In retaliation, he immediately buys the bakery where Ruby’s mother works, effectively leaving her jobless. However, his scheming doesn’t stop there.

As Ruby, previously stripped of a scholarship and in search of another, gets called into the principal’s office. There, she’s confronted with a photo revealing her affair with Mr. Sutton. Despite her attempts to explain, Ruby is expelled and denied entry to her dream college, Oxford.

This is a massive blow for Ruby, whose life is turned upside down because she fell in love with a wealthy heir. However, there’s a silver lining; Prime Video has announced that she will have her chance to retaliate against Mortimer in the upcoming third season of Maxton Hall.

What Will Season 3 of Maxton Hall Cover?

Fans will have to wait until 2026 or even 2027 to see the beloved troubled couple again. The third season of Maxton Hall, adapting the final book of Mona Kasten’s trilogy, will conclude the saga of Ruby and James. The pair will tackle various injustices as indicated in the book synopsis:

Ruby is in shock: she has been suspended from Maxton Hall college. Worse yet, evidence suggests that no one other than James is to blame for her predicament. Ruby can’t believe it—not after everything they’ve been through. She thought she knew the real James: the dreamer, the one who makes her laugh and whose mere glance makes her heart race. But as Ruby fights to earn her diploma despite the odds, James once again finds himself burdened by family obligations. Both must question whether the worlds they come from are just too different.

The series will take some creative liberties with Mona Kasten’s novel as Ruby and James join hands to confront Mortimer and hope to continue their romance. While Ruby focuses on her studies, James and his sister must prove that their mother’s will is a forgery. They will find an ally in their Aunt Ophelia.
