Top Animated Movie of All Time? Lead Actor Accepted Role Without Hesitation!

Following the success of numerous Spider-Man adaptations that have captivated cinema audiences since the early 2000s, especially after Sam Raimi’s iconic trilogy, it seemed a challenging task to introduce a fresh take on the Spider-Man saga. However, six years ago, Sony Animation Pictures launched a completely original adventure that quickly won over fans. With its visually stunning animation and box office success, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” achieved an average rating of 4.377 out of 5 stars from AlloCiné viewers, making it the ninth-best animated film of all time.

Four years later, the sequel “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” not only succeeded in maintaining the high standards but also excelled commercially, earning a rating of 4.422 out of 5 stars, thereby ranking as the fifth-best animated film ever. Fans are eagerly awaiting the third installment.

The series follows the adventures of Miles Morales, a young African-American and Puerto Rican teen who acquires powers similar to the Spider-Man and finds himself working alongside numerous Spider-People from parallel universes. This saga has absolutely dazzled audiences with the quality of its animation.

Even before knowing what this new adaptation would look like, actor Shameik Moore readily agreed to voice the young protagonist, as he recently shared at the FanExpo in San Francisco (according to Collider).

“I Wanted to Play Miles.”

“They might have tried [to convince me], but I’m not really someone who needs convincing. (…)“, Moore commented, reflecting on his initial discussions with the film’s directors.

“I wanted to play Miles. So, I trusted these guys, who are incredibly talented, and I believed that we were all there to make the most amazing film possible. Their job was to oversee the animation, and mine was to deliver a solid vocal performance. So I focused on my role, followed their directions, and trusted them. And I will continue to trust them to exceed my expectations.”
